NIRVANA is an excellent example of the Dreamboat style of personal motoryacht which was developed by the Lake Union Drydock Company and built by several yards in the Pacific Northwest. IDA MAY could easily be the most famous classic yacht in California. While owned by Stan Laurel, of Laurel & Hardy fame, it becasme the flagship of the Santa Catalina Tuna Club, a cadre of serious sportfishermen. Considered the world's first purpose built 'sportfisher' it was one of the fastest yacht in its day and hosted liminaries from Winston Churchill and s US Presidents, the Hollywood elite, and the serious fishermen of the day including Zane Grey, Stan Laurel, Erroll Fylnn, Ernest Hemingway, and others. While aboard you can get up and close and personal with all the original hardware and fishing gear.
